Students have always been at the core of the work we do in Student Affairs Division. In support of our commitment to student development, we engage in intentional development and delivery of programs and services that maximize the fulfillment of the Bangladesh Agricultural University mission. The Students Affairs Division is an integral part of the academic program of students of the teaching Departments and Institutes of the University. It aims at helping students to adjust to campus life, effectively pursue curricular as well as co-curricular activities, develop their abilities for making wise choices and plans, and solve individual problems through counseling. It provides the skilled and principled use of relationship to facilitate self- knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth and the optimal development of personal resources of the students. This Division always emphasizes the students’ problem with developmental issues, addressing and resolving specific problems, making decisions, coping with crisis, developing personal insights and knowledge, working through feelings of inner conflict or improving relationships with others. Though each unit within Student Affairs has developed targeted learning outcomes for its area, the shared living-learning outcomes for the Division are Leadership & Citizenship, Community & Social Justice, Self Efficacy, and Identity & Values. The work we have done in crisis intervention, student-centered campus life programming, policy development, professional development, fiscal responsibility, student mentoring, and much more,
Bangladesh Agricultural University has its own Students Welfare and Counseling center and it has been playing an important role for the welfare of the students through various activities. It is guided and supervised by Students Affair`s Adviser and was established in the middle of 1974.
Besides the counseling services, it has been playing a vital role in various co-curricular activities such as fresher’s reception, souvenir, debate competition, cultural competition, celebrating national and international days, career festival, and financial assistance for the insolvent meritorious students in every year. There is an Auditorium named Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Auditorium and a common Hall named TSC Conference Hall under Students Affairs Division conducting seminars, meetings, and cultural programs
Students Affair`s Adviser, an Associate Students Affairs Adviser, an Additional Director, and 16 other staffs constitute the Division.
